Dr. Okukpe is a Reader in the Department of Animal Production at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. A Registered Animal Scientist with research interest in Animal Physiology; Growth and Reproductive physiology of farm animals with special interest in the use of medicinal plants for growth and reproductive enhancement of farm animals. He has investigated and published his findings on the growth, reproductive and immune-modulating effects of Vernonia amygdalina leaves/ extracts in Thyronomys swinderianus and West African Dwarf Goats. As well as Stress-modulating effects of bioactive compounds in plants such as Trebulus terrestris, Myristica fragrans, Dioscorea villosa, etc extracts in West African Dwarf goats. He’s a member of different Faculty/University Boards such as the Feed mill management unit, Teaching and Research Farm, Unilorin GgMax Poultry Farm Limited and different associations related to Animal Physiology.
